Boston Public Library Public Art Photograph Collection
These photos were taken by photographers employed by the Boston Public Library during the summer of 2020, as part of a project to document public spaces in several Boston neighborhoods during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. These photos depict murals, sculptures, commemorative plaques, painted electrical boxes, and other works of public art in Roxbury, Dorchester, the South End, and surrounding areas. The collection was donated to Northeastern University by the Boston Public Library.

A mural painted with acrylics in Dudley Square, directed by Mike Womble of the Mayor's Mural Crew along with a group of teen artists in 1995. It displays various Roxbury features, such as a train station, small businesses such as a barbershop, a basketball hoop, light posts, and faces of Roxbury residents. Among the people depicted are Malcolm X, Melnea Cass, and Elma Lewis. This is the only one of three murals painted by the Mayor's Mural Crew in Dudley Square that has not yet been demolished.
